Why Choose VFA High School
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ
Located in Nakifuma, along the Mukono–Kayunga Highway in Mukono District, we are a fully fledged mixed O and A Level boarding secondary school—registered by the Ministry of Education and Sports as PSS/V/38, with UNEB Centre U3966 (awarded 2022). We are a Christian nonprofit NGO and, in national exams, among the country’s strongest private schools.
Founded in 2019 by Dr. Maria Luise Prean, with management mandated to run all school business in line with our vision and mission. Our vision: an international, English-speaking, Christ-centered, Scripture-based ministry—to glorify God, fulfill the Great Commission, care for the underprivileged, and bring forth a new generation of godly men and women as servant leaders.
Mission: To provide education for needy children in Africa (at present mainly Uganda) and give them hope for the future, with the help of many who have given donations. Motto: Born To Win, Our Father Is The King. We deliver a balanced national curriculum (Arts and Sciences) with 78 teachers and 68 non-teaching and support staff.
Academic Strength
Balanced Arts and Sciences within the national curriculum—UCE and UACE—with outcomes that place us among Uganda’s best private schools.
Practical Life Skills
Agriculture, animal husbandry, arts and crafts, and more—so every learner gains at least one practical skill alongside academic growth.
Faith and Formation
Christ-centered, Scripture-based formation: retreats, daily devotions, and values we cherish—holiness, integrity, compassion, stewardship, excellence, and building God’s kingdom.
Student life: Retreats & Daily Rhythm
Students’ retreats
We begin and end each term with a students’ retreat—a time to be equipped and re-equipped with social and spiritual life skills so young people can grow in versatility and thrive in a changing world.
Daily schedule
The school day runs from 5:00 a.m. to 4:40 p.m., with both academic and non-academic programs. Each day includes morning and evening devotions, when children and teachers share God’s Word together.
The school week
A typical week runs Monday through Saturday at 12:00 p.m. The rest of the weekend—apart from Sunday morning, when we gather for prayer—is reserved for personal needs and for clubs and societies.
